Livingston Native Comes Full Circle, Making ParkVue Her Home Once Again

Livingston Native Comes Full Circle, Making ParkVue Her Home Once Again
April 18, 2025
LIVINGSTON, N.J. — They say home is where the heart is — and for Susan Thomas, it turns out home was right where she left it.
A lifelong Livingston resident, Susan has moved into ParkVue at Livingston not once, but multiple times over the past several years — drawn back each time by the sense of comfort, convenience, and community that ParkVue offers.
“We lived in five different units here,” Susan said with a laugh. “Once, while waiting for a newly built condo, but every time, we found ourselves coming back to ParkVue. It just feels right.”
Susan initially moved into ParkVue in late 2018 while waiting for a nearby condominium development to be completed. But after discovering the condo’s poor construction and a less-than-ideal living experience in the new development, she and her now adult son quickly returned to ParkVue.
“We sold our unit and moved back almost immediately. There’s just no comparison,” she said. “The quality at ParkVue is on another level.”
Since then, she’s made ParkVue her permanent home — and now that her son is grown, he’s chosen to stay close by, renting his own apartment within the community where he grew up.
“What’s great is that we’re close, but we each have our own space,” she said. “And honestly, where else can you get this much value for the price?”
For Susan, it’s more than just the finishes and features — although she praises those, too. “The gym, the pool, the basketball and pickleball courts, the walking trails — it’s all here,” she said. “The apartments are modern, well-maintained, and the management is always responsive. If something’s wrong, they fix it. If you need special accommodations, they try to help.”
Thomas even got approval to bring in a custom refrigerator that better suited her needs. “They’re just that accommodating,” she said.
Security and upkeep have remained consistent since she first moved in. “Whether I come home at 11 p.m. or during the day, I feel totally safe,” she said. “The covered garage, the cameras, the gate house — everything is set up to give you peace of mind.”
What also stands out for Susan is the thoughtful design of the community itself. With all apartment units and a clear policy on occupancy, she appreciates the quiet environment.
Now living in a one-bedroom plus den with a loft, Susan says it’s the perfect setup. Her son lives across the complex and often visits.
“He has his friends over for the games. They grill and watch together — it’s become their tradition,” she said.
“There are a lot of developments going up, but ParkVue has something really special,” she said. “It’s clean, it’s well-kept, and it’s not losing that community feel. I’ve met neighbors, made connections — even one of my son’s former campers lives in our building!”
Though she doesn’t participate in every community event, she appreciates the effort. “There’s always something going on — contests, card nights, club room events. It’s nice to know it’s there when you want it.”
And while new apartment complexes continue to rise across town, Susan doesn’t see herself moving again anytime soon.
“At ParkVue, I have everything I need — space, quality, peace of mind, and people who care,” she said. “Why would I go anywhere else?”
